Managing Director, Creative
Joost (Yoast) is a creative powerhouse. Beyond inventive campaign concepting, he's a heavyweight in all things art – creative direction, art direction, and graphic design – and is thoroughly involved on a strategic level with idea generation, articulation and implementation.
Other creative directors have told us that Joost's world-class credentials and his "book" give them "portfolio envy." He has worked as creative director for DDB in Amsterdam, and Leo Burnett in Johannesburg. He's been European executive creative director for Leo Burnett Brussels, and creative director for his own company based out of South Africa, Varder-Hulsbosch Communication Design.
In 30 years of global work for major brands like Revlon, Reebok, MasterCard, Mercedes-Benz, McDonalds, Unilever, SAB-Miller, P&G and Coca-Cola, he's racked up an impressive 100+ awards including The One Show, NY ADC, Communication Arts, Clio, and the Cannes Film, Interactive and Print Festival.
Today, Joost is the impetus behind the company's internal creative mantra, OK is not OK, under which we're pushing both the creativity and results envelopes.
Joost is fluent in Dutch, German and English. He's co-published a book on investing in the South African stock market which, bizarrely, may make him the only creative director on the planet with financial acumen. Which is A-OK with us.
